May we see the beauty even amidst the mess, the potential, the what could be, in ourselves and in others.
Story behind this illustration: Meandering down a tree lined cobbled Lisbon street, this building stops me in my tracks. A bittersweet building. Beautiful and flawed. It’s beauty captured me, the intricate designs, the architecture, the history and stories I imagine it represents. All of this shamefully framed by cumbersome barriers, ordinary, practical signposts, danger signs screaming out that perhaps it’s not so beautiful or safe inside. Graffitied and marked by those who didn’t see or care for its beauty. But this building is beautiful still. It represents beauty even amidst the mess. Sounds familiar.
