February - Seen

Building on our foundational word of Grounded, we recognise the truth that we are SEEN and known by our Father God, El ROI - The God who sees me.

This beautiful illustration of a little boy reading under the tree, homage to when Jesus said to Natheniel, “I saw you when you were under the fig tree!”. The verse from the story of Hagar in Genesis 16:13. Illustration again based close to home at Gosford Forest Park, Markethill, Co.Armagh, N.Ireland.

March - Sanctuary

Another illustration based in our beautiful Northern Ireland, this time on the North Coast at the lovely quaint harbour of Ballintoy. I snapped this moment on a brisk Autumn morning, loving the colours of the grasses and background I couldn’t resist recreating it on my iPad.

A quiet moment with God when I felt Him whispering to me, it felt like a place of sanctuary; a safe place and time to be alone in His presence, listening to His voice. Sanctuary is summed up for me in the song lyrics; ‘Let me be your sanctuary. Let me be your safe place to fall
I can take away your worries. The refuge from it all.’
(Songwriters: Gary Nicholson, Sarah Siskind, Jill Andrews.)

This month is then taking that focus and desire to be in God’s presence, as the scripture verse says ‘Make a sanctuary for me’ and the beautiful promise ‘and I will dwell among them’.

The worship songs on my Spotify playlist, scriptures, prayer and thought to consider will help you as you make that place of sanctuary, for God to dwell with you in.

May - Sing

‘I sing because I’m happy, I sing because I’m free. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me.’

This sweet illustration and lyrics reminding us of that truth from February, that we are seen and known. That EL ROI the God who sees me, watches over us. It’s that comfort and security from our Heavenly Father, encouraging us to then SING out in praise and gratitude for all that He is and has done for us.

What a powerful and tuneful focus for the month of May as we move into the lighter evenings and warmer days!

October - Faith

As Lucy Maud Montgomery writes for her Anne Girl - ‘I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.’

I love how this illustration captures the beauty of an October autumn day and the act/risk of stepping out in faith. with each step being carefully taken by this intrepid but cautious explorer. We can see her concentrating hard not to slip on the wet stones, so much like our own steps of faith!
